Minjun CAI
Senior Partner and Patent Attorney
Patent practice spanning prosecution, reexamination, invalidation and disputes, with technical depth across medical devices, optics, electronics, control and mechanical systems.
Mr. Cai began his career in 1984 at the CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office, a year before China's Patent Law took effect, and is among the first generation of practitioners to qualify as a Chinese patent attorney, having received that qualification in 1985. In 1993, he joined China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. as a patent attorney and head of its Mechanical Department. He later co-founded a Chinese IP firm as senior partner before joining Kingsright in 2019. He has more than forty years of experience in patent drafting, prosecution, office-action responses, reexamination and invalidation proceedings, and administrative and infringement litigation. He has handled thousands of applications across medical equipment, optics, electronics, automation control, automobile engineering, and hydraulic systems. As lead attorney in dozens of complex matters, he has enforced needle-free infusion-connector patents for a foreign medical-device company against a domestic manufacturer, conducted patent landscape and portfolio planning work for bare-eye 3D display innovators, and directed large-scale outbound prosecution for full-digital radiation-detection equipment. Mr. Cai works in Chinese, English, and German.
